5 Things you need to know about your Suva Hydra liners
Hands up if you’re new to Hydra Liners or water-activated cake liners?
If you've been on Instagram lately, you know that these Hydra Liners/FX (neon cake liners) have been disrupting the beauty community.
So whether you’re playing with water-activated cake makeup for the first time, or interested in trying something different with the ones you own, it'll be SO helpful to know about the unique qualities of a cake liner.
To better understand the Hydra Liner/FX formula, here are 5 Things You Need to Know About Hydra Liners (Cake Liners) Before You Start Creating:
1. Water-Activated
When it's not being used, Hydra Liners are a soft solid cake (you won't be able to use it when it's dry). The product must be activated by water for application.
2. Versatility
Unlike gel, cream, or liquids, artists can control the consistency of their Hydra Liner application to their desire. Depending on how much water you use, you can create a super opaque winged eyeliner, do a full body paint with an airbrush, or create unique water-color looks. You can even mix any Hydra Liner shades together to create new shades.
3. Smell
A UV reactive Hydra FX may arrive to you with a smell. This smell is common with UV pigments. SUVA intentionally do not mask the smell by adding other scents, as it may cause other irritations. The product is 100% safe to use and will go away over time. If the smell is quite bothersome, we advise leaving the cap off the product overnight for a couple days in a sanitary area to air out the smell.
4. Appearance
Because to its unique properties, Hydra Liners/FX may vary by appearance. The top press of the Hydra Liners may have tiny divots. This is due to the softness of the cake during the pressing process.
You may also notice that the fill on specific shades may look “less” than other Hydra Liners you own. All of Hydra Liners are measured by weight and not volume. So although it physically looks like a lesser fill, it is the same weight as all our other Hydra Liners (it’s just a little more dense) - this is just the nature of the Suva Hydra Liner formula.
5. Longevity
Your Hydra Liner will never “dry out” !! Hydra Liners are meant to return to their solid state after each use. Always leave the cap off to dry before storing away to avoid water retention within the pot. Gels and liquids tend to have a short time frame when it comes to drying out and being no longer usable, but not Hydra Liners!
